Note: part of the 9.6 cm insert won’t be visible once the mod is finished
Step 2
Take the Signo DX apart
Step 3
Cut off the top of the backplug, keeping only the tube part
Cut the front of the barrel as shown
Note: the Signo DX barrel is fragile, so use a tool that doesn’t squeeze it, such as a fret saw
Step 4
Sand the Signo DX barrel until it just holds the G2 barrel and the insert (see step 4, photo 2)
Note: cut the G2 barrel to 3 cm
Step 5
Put in the insert and assemble
Step 6
Clean out the Signo DX and G2 refills
Step 7
Sand the cut front of the Signo DX and the front of the G2 thread
Step 8
Measure 2.5 cm from the thread and cut
Step 9
Cut 1.7–1.75 cm of the clear Signo refill tube
Cut 2.4 cm of the clear G2 refill tube
Prepare them as shown
Note: cut the tube from the end opposite the original ink outlet
Step 10
Wrap some tape around the Signo front parts and assemble as shown
Once assembled, add the G2 refill front parts at the end
Step 11
Wrap some tape around the G2 refill parts and put the G2 body on
Step 12
Put the Signo backplug over the G2 part
Note: this part goes back into the Signo body (see step 13) and must face the same way as when you took it apart
Step 13
Insert the part from step 12 into the Signo barrel
Step 14
Prepare the materials as shown
Step 15
Take the Frixion cap apart
Step 16
Sand down the bumps on the Frixion cap
Step 17
Measure 2.55 cm from where it joined the body and cut
Cut the tip end as shown
Step 18
Remove the bumps from the Frixion cap and push it onto the G2 barrel
Step 19
Cut at the opening of the Frixion cap and put in the G2 refill end
Step 20
Prepare the G2 clicker as shown
Step 21
Place the G2 clicker from the previous step as shown
Step 22
From left to right:
assemble G2 metal refill < part from inside the Frixion cap < Frixion tip < Signo metal refill
Note: the part from inside the Frixion cap needs a hole made with an awl to fit; if it’s loose, fix it with superglue
Step 23
Cut the G2 spring in half
Step 24
Put one half of the spring onto the Frixion rubber part (see the blue Frixion rubber)
Then twist the other half together with the one you just placed (see the pink Frixion rubber)
Step 25
Assemble as shown
Note: see photo 2 for the grip length
Step 26
Assemble and put on the front grip
Mix and match as you like
